Skills and Trades

In today’s booming B.C. economy, skilled workers and trades people are in high demand, and many students are considering careers in the skilled trades.

A wide variety of programs are offered in almost every B.C. community. Click here for a list of skills and trades career options – including descriptions of job duties and links to institutions offering training.

Those who want an early start can begin apprenticeships while they’re still in high school through the ACE-IT and Secondary School Apprenticeship programs. Both allow students to earn credits towards graduation – and towards completing an apprenticeship program. Click the links for more information.
