Who Can Enrol?

If you’re a student in BC, you can take distributed learning courses instead of, or in addition to your classroom studies.

With its flexible approach, it’s great if you:

  • prefer to work at a flexible pace;
  • are interested in taking courses that aren’t available locally;
  • are an athlete or performing artist with a demanding schedule; or
  • are traveling and want to keep up with your studies while you’re away from home.

Distributed learning increases options and access to quality courses for all students in the province. In fact, some distributed learning schools focus specifically on providing specialized services.

  • Last year, more than 500 students with special needs took distributed learning courses.
  • Students who require English as a Second Language (ESL) and Aboriginal services also can learn at a distance.
  • Adult students can also take DL courses, whether they’ve graduated already or not.

To find out which schools provide supplementary services like these, see the DL Schools page.
